System software refers to the software programs that manage and control the computer hardware and provide services to other software programs. On the other hand, application software is designed to perform specific tasks for the user. Here are three examples of each:
System Software:

Utility software that helps manage and maintain the computer system such as antivirus software, disk defragmenters, and system optimizers.
Application Software:
