Masters Degree
The ADB-JSP provides full tuition fees, a
monthly subsistence and housing allowance, an
allowance for books and instructional materials,
medical insurance, and travel expenses.
The scholarship is for one year with an extension
to the second year of study, as appropriate, which
shall be conditional on the scholar maintaining a
satisfactory level of performance as determined by
the institute. The maximum duration of
scholarship award is two years for masters and
doctorate programs.
A national of an ADB borrowing member
country
Gained admission to an approved MA/PhD
course at an academic institution.
At least two (2) years of full-time professional
working experience
Not more than 35 years old at the time of
application.
Should agree to return to his/her home
country after completion of studies
Executive Directors, Alternate Directors,
management and staff of ADB, consultants,
and relatives of the aforementioned are not
eligible for the Scholarship.
Relevant for any
Graduate from
Science, Arts or
Commerce.

Each scholarship consists of:
a) Air tickets from recipient’s capital city to
Malaysia an visa
b) An approved tuition fees
c) Monthly maintenance allowance
d) Annual grant for books and internal travel
e) Medical / Health Insurance
f) Installation and Termination grant
g) Thesis allowance
Not be more than 40 years (Postgraduate)
and 45 years (Post-doctoral) of age during
application.
Obtained a minimum of Second Class Upper
(Honours) or a CGPA of 3.5/4.0 at Bachelor
Degree Level for Masters Degree applicants
and for PhD candidates must possess CGPA
3.5/4.0 or very good result at Masters degree
level in a similar field of intended PhD study.
Took either IELTS Academic Test with a
score of at least 6.5; or TOEFL paper-based
test with a score of at least 580 or computerbased test with a score of at least 230 or
internet-based test with a score at least 92.
