Huawei announced the name of 10 'ICT meritorious' students
Huawei, the world's largest ICT solution provider, has announced the name of 10 'ICT meritorious' students from five universities in Bangladesh. Today, the names of the selected students were declared at the closing ceremony of the 'Sides for the Future Bangladesh9', the biggest CSR program in Huawei, a hotel in Dhaka.
The inauguration ceremony was inaugurated by Postal, Telecommunication and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar. The Chinese Embassy's Economic and Commercial Councilor Lee Guangzhou was present as special guest.
Ten students selected from Bangladesh through selection process for 'Sides for the Future 2019' are Tasafia Jahan and Government Softly Sarathi Das from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Maya Farzana and Kaushik Kumar from Dhaka University, Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology RUET) Tasafia Sainti and Minhas bin Faruqi, Khulna University of Engineering and Technology Atiya Islam Akhil and Jahidul Islam from Dali (KUET) and Manisa Dev and Quamrul Hasan from Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET). These students will be taken to Beijing and Shenzhen in China for two weeks in April to teach about new technology in hand and train.
The competition started in five universities of the country on 17 February. A total of 600 students from 120 different universities participated in the primary selection process of this competition. After this, 75 students from 15 different colleges participated in the second phase of the competition. With the latest written and oral examination, two students from each university were finalized. The students of the respective departments of each university, with the support of senior teachers and experts from Huawei, have been selected.
Call, Telecommunication and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar said, "Such arrangements will help our young students to move faster in the journey of information technology. Today we are in a very short period of time to be completely digital. We hope to work with Huawei, we can bring fivevies between 2021 and 2023. But we can bring it before that, we will request Huawei.
At the event, Zhang Zengjun, CEO of Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Limited said, "Sides for the Future" is the most invested CSR program in Huawei worldwide. The main objective of this competition is to help in improving the efficiency of new ICT meritorious students for innovation in world-class technology.
