Mobile phone subscribers exceed 140 million Now in BD
The people of Bangladesh have 140 million 7 lakh 13 thousand mobile SIMs. Among those who use the internet, 70 million 38 lakh 17 thousand. (10 million = 1 crore)
Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) released this information on Tuesday.
In September last year, the number was 110 million 90 lakh 87 thousand (mobile SIM) and 60 million 29 lakh 68 thousand (internet).
In September last year, the number of subscribers of Grameen Phone was 55.5 million and 15 thousand. This year, the number has reached 63882000.
On the other hand Robi's subscriber was 2,38,34000. After combining Robi and Airtel this year, this number has increased to 4,12,11000.
Banglalink subscriber was 20 million 94 lakh 71 thousand. This year it has increased to 3,23,79000.
The subscriber of the government mobile operator Teletalk was 20 million 98 lakhs 9 thousand. Which increased to 30 million 24 lakh and 1 thousand.
But the number of WiMAX internet users in the country last year was 1 lakh, but this time it has reduced to 90 thousand.
Apart from this, ISP and PSTN internet subscribers were 37 lakh 94 thousand. This year the number has reached 53 lakh 21 thousand.
In order to create this list, those who have started SIM in the past 90 days, have been included in voicemail, internet or sms.
