Banned and Suspended Private Medical Colleges in Bangladesh
In the absence of government policies and for not following government rules and regulations , the Health and Family Welfare Ministry of Bangladesh has suspended and banned the medical admission in the 5 private medical colleges in this year (academic year 2017-2018) MBBS and BDS courses.The admission of the students has been temporarily suspended for non-critical conditions of the Private Medical College Establishment and Management Policy 2011 (Amended).
Admission Banned / suspended medical colleges are -
1. Shahabuddin Medical College in Gulshan
2. Ad-Din Bashundhara Medical College in Dhaka's South Keraniganj
3. Aichi Medical College in Uttara Abdullapur
4. Care Medical College of Mohammadpur Iqbal Road
Earlier on this notice, on Sep 27, the suspension was given on the admission of separate circular signed by Deputy Secretary Um Kulesum of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. It is mentioned in the notice that where the students can not be admitted in this academic session 2017 - 2018.
The Director of Health Director (Medical, Education and Health Manpower Development) Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Rashid said that the decision to suspend / banned the medical admission in this medical colleges at the meeting with Health Minister Mohammad Nasim in the chairmanship of the establishment of medical college, approval, withdrawal of suspension, increase in seats and renewal relation.
There are currently 31 government and 69 private medical colleges in Bangladesh. And 9, 568 total seats in both the public and the private medical college. Among them, there are 3,318 government and 6,250 private medical's seats.
The admission test will be held on October 6, Friday of government and private medical colleges. Over 82 thousand candidates will participate in this year's admission test. On the basis of merit list, the admissions will start after admission test result.
